Primer to the Zandarian Lexicon
The Zandarian Lexicon is a set of terms and definitions that are meant to bridge the conceptual and communicational gaps between various schools of science, philosophy, and spirituality. With this lexicon we aim to establish a consistent base for discussing the interrelation between deeper concepts regarding reality and existence.
To best utilize this lexicon it is necessary to accept the following concepts as truth:
- regardless of purpose or intent, the function of something can be clearly observed through a defined lens and communicated from a defined frame of reference;
- the way we measure the universe has no bearing on the structure of the universe;
- dimensions are neither zones nor places; they are either angles of measurement or aspects of structure but not both at once.
To further clarify dimensions vs zones: a certain zone can be measured by many metric dimensions. A certain place can be structured with many structural dimensions. However, a zone is not a dimension and a dimension is not a zone. To be clear, we are making an adamant complaint about the phrases used in both science and science fiction about someone or something being “from” a dimension. Nothing, no one, not any concept can be “from” an angle of measurement. Nor can any noun be “from” a concept of a basic structural aspect or feature of existence. You can be coming from a room; you cannot be coming from the general concept of rooms. You can be coming from a distance; you cannot be coming from length itself. So there. Please stop using these nonsensical phrases. We beg you. It is disrupting the human understanding of existence and reality. Additionally, with respect to the classical dimensions, we do not exist in a three-dimensional universe, there is no such thing as a three-dimensional universe nor a universe restricted to any other dimensional count. There is no such thing as a fourth-dimensional creature nor is there any such thing as a creature “from” or existing in or on any other dimension. The dimensions are all always present at every point of existence because they are merely concepts of measurement and structure. Please stop using them as locations. Please.
