About Zander

Cix and Victoria Zander are a cognitive duality, a pair of conscious identities living in one body—similar to conjoined twins but with the biologically typical count of all male anatomical features. The left brain identity controls the right side of the body and vice versa, as can be expected. As such, each twin controls the other’s half of the body. Also, the emotional centers and speech centers are significantly asymmetrical, as well as all the others. They have always struggled with understanding and balancing their own existence. This struggle has given them a unique perspective on reality.

Starting in 4th grade, 2000-2001, Zander began losing memories due to a hidden fungal infection that wouldn’t be discovered until 20 years later in 2021. The beginning of the disease is an estimate based on symptoms and the presence of a large fungal infestation found in the air vents of the school they attended. Additionally, Zander reports that most of their 4th grade school year can’t be remembered at all.

As the disease progressed, memory loss became more frequent and significant. Just before the surgery that removed the fungus from their lung, the infection eroded a hole in their lung. Their memory loss was so significant that they lived with a collapsed lung for 2 months before finally getting an x-ray. This was due in part to their doctors not believing them, likely due to the lack of severity of their reactions, and in part to their own memory loss causing them to forget what normal lungs felt like after only a few days.

Through the course of the 20 year disease, memory loss occurred every time they consumed protein, which was somehow metabolized by the fungus to produce a substance similar to psilocybin directly into the blood. Whenever memory loss happened, the brain automatically tried to fill in the gaps with whatever information was available in the immediate environment, including dreams, day dreams, and nightmares. Indeed they experience nightmares and other dreams on par with reality due to the psychotropic effects of the fungus. With numerous dreams every night, and several meals every day, the pair experienced a phenomenon called “ego death” approximately 100,000 times.

In regard to the Zandarian Lexicon, this means that the terms, definitions, and concepts here are the result of forgetting the laws of nature thousands of times and finding new ones. This lexicon represents the most consistent set of concepts and ideas that helped Zander survive in a state of constant rebirth from nothing. After 20 years of daily death and rebirth erasing and reshaping identities, this lexicon holds a frame of reference without predisposition or prejudice from prior theories, prior culture, or prior beliefs. All of this formed by a set of minds clever enough to rediscover and survive a chaotic and conflicted world full of paradoxes and contradictions, for what it’s worth.
